You all may have been watching and have noticed a huge drop in land resell value, and has many of you concerned. I have been chatting in the Concierge Group with other Estate owners to see if they are seeing the same things. And it’s pretty much universal, and this is what we deduct as why.

1 Month ago Linden Labs dropped their Full Sim purchase rates from 1695 USD to 1000 USD, with that they also gave the option to anyone who owns 1 Full sim the ability to purchase whats known as Openspace sims in blocks of 1 instead of the usual 4. they also dropped rates on that as well. You can now purchase an OS Sim for $250 USD. A few of the residents here have gone for that option and are currently selling some of their plots on the sims. Because of this flux of residents heading to OS Sims, combined with RL Economy issues which I know many of you may be feeling, the parcel rates have decreased as well as parcel sales. If you live in the US we are seeing the same thing happen with RL real estate. So because of the drops in sim rates Estate owners are selling plots dirt cheap, BUT are making it up in the tier rates, and making it back over time, unlike before where each resident purchased a piece of the sim. So where does this leave us here at the Isles, well the same place as before. I will not be adjusting tier rates at all because of this. They will stay at the rates they have always been. These rates are slightly over what I pay for tier to Linden Labs. This keeps the sim going, while maintaining a financial buffer in case of a mass exodus, thus guaranteeing the residents remaining a place to call home. As long as tiers are paid on time their will be no problems, but I will be keeping a careful watch on the vendors for anyone going into arrears, so please please, pay on time. If you know you are going to have a problem, please contact me BEFORE it goes into arrears, and I will do the best I can to help you out… if I can.

You may have also noticed I moved the mosque and tiers off of Meadows. the main reason for doing this is because the mosque would often have guests, many of which may have been wandering through sim. So to keep them seperate I have moved the mosque to a island unto itself. Which this the tier vendors moved as well, the decrease of 50 vendors and servers will decrease script time on the Sionnach Meadows sim, as well as visitor count, keeping the sim that much more stable.

Hey Sionnach Isles residents, welcome to the estates new blog. I have created this in hopes to provide a better means of communications between the residents and myself. As questions and issues arise my goal is to provide those answers here, as well as static image of the front page which will be located at the tier vault on Sionnach. As soon as we get the site together more we will allow comments to the posts. Feel free to comment at anytime. Please note you MUST register on the blog to post, and please use your SL name. Anonymous posts will be deleted.

Feel free to mention your issues, problems, as well as compliments if you like thing the way they are being done. Chances are polls will be done here as well via the comments, as it seems the group polls never seem to work properly.
